About Us
Who We Are
STEM Handisi Africa is a STEM-focused organization dedicated to mentoring and inspiring young girls to pursue science, technology, engineering, and mathematics fields that have long been considered male dominated. Founded in 2016 after one of our founders, Grace Nzivo, saw a stark gender imbalance in her engineering class with only 10 women and 65 men we were moved to create a platform that empowers young girls to break these barriers. Since then, we have reached over 30,000 girls in rural Kenya and informal settlements in Nairobi, building a strong movement of confident and curious STEM innovators.
