Our Impact-SDGs
How We Drive Change Through the SDGs
Our impact aligns with global Sustainable Development Goals by empowering girls with quality STEM education, advancing gender equality, and reducing systemic barriers that limit female participation in science and technology.
SDG 5 – Gender Equality
Despite women representing about 50% of the workforce, less than 20% of them are in science and engineering fields. STEM Mhandisi Africa works to bridge this gender gap by motivating and equipping girls to choose STEM careers and challenge societal stereotypes.
SDG 4 – Quality Education
Through mentorship, training, innovation support, and career guidance, we provide girls with high-quality learning opportunities that help them make informed academic and career choices.
SDG 10 – Reduced Inequalities
Studies show that many women who join STEM courses drop out before graduation—a phenomenon known as the leaky pipeline. To make it worse, women in STEM earn up to 30% less than men for the same work. By empowering girls early, we contribute to a future where the STEM environment is more inclusive and equitable.
